Steve McCurry toke this portrait in 1985 and it was published in National Geographic magazine, and he named  this photo "The afghan girl". The name of this girl is Sharbat Gula and it was take when she was 12 years old, in  a refugee camp of Nasir Bagh, during Afganistan war. I like this portrait because it shows lots of history, a history where innocents boys and girls has been affected. her color eyes are very intense, her form of look shows a difficult life. This photo is around the world because is a symbol of the situation of refugiate people and victims of armed conflicts. After this photo, National Geographic create a help fund named Afghan Girl Fund. 17 years later, Steve McCurry met again to Sharbat Gula, and they made forensic evidence to finally confirm if really was Sharbat and Natgeo make a documentary film showing the experience of the photographer.
